Highway Collection Station

2010 TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE
HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT TRANSFER STATION

The Town of Poughkeepsie Highway Department will open its Transfer Station 10 times from April through September for Town residents to discard unwanted bulk items on the Saturdays listed below.  Operating hours are from 7:00AM to 2:00 PM There will be no dates in July. Current proof of Town residency and a photo ID must be provided before entering the facility.  COMMERCIAL HAULERS AND BUSINESSES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ACCESS TO THIS STATION.  A complete list of acceptable items may be picked up at the Town Clerk or Highway Department offices.You may call DCRRA at (845)463-6020 for information on how to dispose of these items.

Please note: NYS law states that any materials being transported on public road must be tarped.

BRUSH & LAWN DEBRIS, LUMBER, FURNITURE, CARPETS, CLOTHES, BOOKS, MAGAZINES, TOYS, BEDDING, PLASTICS, WOOD FENCING, POOL COVERS, POOL LINERS, VINYL SIDING, TIRES

METALS:

ALL MAJOR APPLIANCES, BBQ GRILLS, LAWN MOWERS, SNOW BLOWERS, TILLERS (PLEASE DRAIN OIL & REMOVE GAS TANKS), SMALL APPLIANCES, METAL CABINETS & DOORS, WINDOWS & SCREENS W/METAL TRIM, SCRAP METALS, FURNACES, COLD WATER TANKS, METAL FURNITURE

BULK NOT ACCEPTED:

ALL COMPUTER/ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING TV’S**.  PAINT, SOLVENTS, CHEMICALS, AEROSOL CANS (ANY HAZARDOUS MATERIALS), BLACKTOP, CONCRETE, BRICKS, SLATE, ROCKS, ROOFING-MATERIALS, ASBESTOS, CAR PARTS, HOUSEHOLD-GARBAGE, RECYLABLES & DEAD ANIMALS
