Fairview Fire District Residents

On Thursday April 24, 2008 at 7:00 PM, there will be a Fire Commissioners Meeting at the Violet Ave. School regarding the extremely high "FIRE TAXES" the residents of this district pay, in order to support almost 80% of "TAX EXEMPT" PROPERTY OWNERS.

Come discuss your concerns with the Fairview Fire Department Board of Commissioners and Various Elected Officials, in order to find a solution to this unfair burden, placed on the taxpayers of this Fire District.

Elected Officials to be in attendance include:

(Representative) State Senator, Stephen Saland

NYS Assemblyman Joel Miller

Dutchess County Legislators Jim Doxsey, Diane Nash & Dan Kuffner

Town of Poughkeepsie Councilman Michael Cifone

10/26/2007 - Special Town Board Meeting

There will be a special Town Board Meeting Friday, October 26th at Town Hall at 10:00am for the following:

  1. Adopt 2008 Tentative Budget as Preliminary Budget
  2. Set date for 2008 Budget Public Hearing
  3. Any other matters that may legally come before the Town Board

9/19/2007 - Basic Star Rebate Checks

The State of New York is mailing applications to Dutchess County residents, the week of 9/17/07, which you need to complete and mail back to the state. You will be receiving a rebate check sometime after they receive the application.If you reside in another county, you should have received your application.

The application will have a special STAR code unique to the individual property. In order to properly complete the application, you will need this code.

 Seniors 65 & older should have received their rebate checks by now.
